And so it begins...
Left Lake Anna in Bumpass, VA 8:24AM EST. With stops in Lex-Vegas, BV, and Roanoke. Final destination Chattanooga, TN approx. 7PM EST. 550 miles.
Woke up and said (teary) final college good byes at perhaps the world's most idyllic lakehouse.
A delicious breakfast (spinach quiche and lasagna) was provided by Mrs. Franklin. Thanks to the Franklins for all their generosity, hospitality, and friendship.
Trip delayed slightly when Doobin and Rob could not leave lakehouse due to mysterious lack of car keys (perhaps a sign of things to come...)
Lexington, VA provided a natural first stop. Returned the last of the Moo House keys. Town steeped in beauty as per usual, but the experience was unsettling overall as it was the first trip back as "alums".
Lunch in Roanoke. Savory Mexican cuisine topped only by the company. Delivered Kara to her home.
Post-lunch and Kara drop, hauled to Chat-town - home of the Sharbers. Highly refreshing swim in the pool followed by another fabulous meal (flanksteak, chicken, potatoes, and asparagus). The Sharbers, as always, have been tremendous hosts. Beers and Get Him to the Greek outdoors by the pool capped the evening.
All the Road's Best,
Two Dudes
